Cynthia Ann Frosch, Ph.D. is the founder of YellowHouse, LLC and the creator of The READY Method™. A researcher, child and family development consultant, and former preschool teacher, Dr. Frosch is known for her research on marital and parent-child relationships. She earned her doctorate in Developmental Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was a fellow of the Center for Developmental Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill prior to joining the faculty at Arizona State University. Currently a visiting scholar at the University of Texas at Dallas, Dr. Frosch continues to train researchers both nationally and internationally on the observation of parent-child interaction and has spent the past seven years working with teachers and families to improve the quality of early childhood environments. She served on the editorial board for Journal of Social and Personal Relationships and has worked with major producers of children’s media and educational products. Through The READY Method workshops and trainings, Dr. Frosch demonstrates to parents and educators how to tune in to children’s subtle cues and improve the quality of their interactions. Dr. Frosch resides in Plano, Texas with her husband and five-year-old son. She gets to practice the READY Method every day.
Margaret Tresch Owen, Ph.D. is Professor of Psychology and Program Head for the graduate program in Human Development and Early Childhood Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a leading researcher in the field of parent-child relationships and the effects of early child care experiences for children and their families. As an investigator on the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development, Dr. Owen developed a widely used system for observing parent-child relationships across early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence. This system served as the inspiration for The READY Method. Dr. Owen has served on the editorial boards for Child Development and the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships. She received her doctorate from the University of Michigan and was the Director of Developmental Research and Associate Director of the Timberlawn Research Foundation before joining the faculty at UTD in 1995. Dr. Owen resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband and teenage son. She and her husband also have two grown children.
